This journey started with me missing a mail from Women Who Code Delhi and then being overwhelmed with excitement after reading it approximately two days later with a little panic, “Okay, soo did I miss this or what?”. Thankfully it doesn’t work this way, I mean my anxiety don’t get to interfere with other people’s brain. So I did get selected as a mentee and the best part? Under our very own Brihi! She’s one real amazing woman, alongside being awesome, her job includes leading the Women Who Code Delhi chapter. She’s a Machine Learning nerd and I am glad to have her as my mentor.

After our first common call as mentees with the program heads we were scheduled for one call per week with our mentors. Soon after, I talked to Brihi and my other two fellow mates Ankita and Yashika and I must say it was one big wholesome call.

We discussed everything from opportunities such as RGSoC to how to make Data structures doable for Ankita and bag the best internships for Yashika. We told Brihi about our expectations on personal level as well as the outcome we expect to achieve as a group. I told her about my issues concerning the odd situations I have to face, being in a male dominant classroom, and she promptly connected me to her friend who could help me with it. I am given with a small task to make a Github repo of an ‘Air pollution classifier’ based on multivariate regression with a descriptive README file and wrap up logistic regression as well. Other than that I was told to hunt for other things I would like to work upon these coming weeks. We would also be working to prepare for the ‘Codess’ initiative by Microsoft.

The best part I felt so good after this call, it didn’t feel like obligatory. Being an introvert believe me when I say I really am waiting for our next call. Thanking WWCD, wholeheartedly ❤
